WHAT IS A TIMEBANK SERVICE EXCHANGE?

 

It is a time-based currency OR an alternative currency where the unit of exchange is the person-hour. Hour Nevada County values everyone’s contributions equally: one hour equals one service-credit. In this system, one person volunteers to work for an hour for another person, organization, or business. They are then credited with one hour, or service-credit, in their personal account in which they can then redeem for an hour of service from another member in the HNC TimeBank network.

 

CAN ANYONE JOIN?

 

If you live in Western Nevada County, yes. We invite individuals, businesses, organizations, and even cities! There is a suggested annual membership of $25 per person, $40 for organizations & businesses, and 2 TimeBank hours donated per year to the Community Fund! However, nobody is turned away for inability to pay. Email us. We can make it work
